With Thanksgiving and Black Friday firmly in the rearview mirror, let's talk for a few minutes about marketing your home business during the holiday season. Everybody will tell you that December and January are "lost months" in the Network Marketing industry, but that's only true if you let it happen. And the true leaders is this industry don't let things happen, they make things happen. So grab a pen and paper and let's brainstorm for a few minutes.

Over the course of the next 6 weeks or so, we are presented with 2 amazing opportunities:

1. We have the opportunity to reunite and rejoice with family & friends. This is a priceless opportunity and everybody should take maximum advantage of this. Once these holidays are over, they’re part of the past, they're part of history, so this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
   
   

2. We have a unique opportunity that relates to your home-based business.

Let me ask you this question – What do most networkers have in common during the holiday season?

• They are home more than usual.

• They take time off from their networking business.

• Their networking business slows down

• Typically, they incur debt and realize they need more disposable income.

Do you see the unique opportunity this presents? Most of your target audience is not distracted by the day job, they are not being distracted by pitches from other networkers, and their business is slower than normal. Do you think they might be receptive to learning about systems, tools, and techniques that provide exposure for their business and works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even during the holidays?

Why else might some of these prospects be interested in that you have to offer, especially at this time of the year?

• Spending quality time with your children makes many working parents wish they didn’t have to go back to work. This may cause some to reconsider the life they’ve created by working out of the home.
  
  

• What else does almost everybody do during this time of year? That’s right, New Year’s resolutions. Do you think that some of those resolutions might be about being home more, earning more money, traveling more, etc?

So you see, while  most networkers look at this next 6 weeks as a lost cause, you actually have the next month and a half pretty much to yourself. With so many people taking time off from the business, you’re message may come through louder and clearer because there’s less competition and less background noise from other networkers.

The marketing that you do between now and the first week of January could very well set you up for a record breaking 2008. So be sure to spend time with family and cherish it, but also devote some quality time to your business … so you’ll have more time with your family down the road.
